The good news is that removing tape in extensions is much easier! In this guide, we’ll share some useful tips to help you safely remove your tape in extensions and replace the tapes at home by yourself.

How to Remove Tape in Extensions From Your Hair With Removal?

Tools needed for tape in extensions removal:

  1. Hair clips: To section your hair.
  2. Hair Velcro:use to avoid pulling out hair during removal process
  3. C22 spray or other hair bond removal
  4. Rat tail comb:Split and separate your extensions and tapes

 

Step By Step Guide to Remove tape ins from your hair with removal:

  • 1.Section Your Hair:Divide your hair into 4 or 8 sections, depending on the thickness of your hair. Use hair clips to secure the rest of your hair out of the way.
  • 2.Apply Removal Spray:Generously saturate the tape bonds with a tape-in extension removal spray. Let it sit for 2 minutes to soften the adhesive.
  • 3.Separate the Tapes:Use a rat-tail comb to gently split the sandwiched tapes down the middle. Spray more removal solution between the tapes to speed up the process.
  • 4.Remove the Tapes:After 2-3 minutes, use your fingers to gently pull out the tapes when they feel loose. Avoid pulling too hard to prevent damage to your natural hair.

  7. Towel: To protect your shoulders and clothes.

Step-by-Step Guide to Using Alcohol for Removing Tape in Extensions:

  • Section Your Hair: Use hair clips to divide your hair into small sections, exposing the tape bonds. Place a towel around your shoulders to avoid getting alcohol on your clothes.
  • Mix alcohol with oil(2:1 alcohol to olive oil),Pour the mixture liquid into a small spray bottle.
  •  Apply Isopropyl Alcohol on to tapes
  • Gently spray or drop the alcohol directly onto the tape bonds. Focus on the areas where the adhesive is visible.
  • Wait the alcohol to sit on the tape bonds for 3-5 minutes(if you use normal alcohol it takes 15-20 minutes). This gives it time to dissolve the adhesive.
  • Use a tail comb or your fingers to gently separate the tape bonds. Be careful not to pull or tug too hard.If the adhesive is still sticky, apply more alcohol and wait another 1-2 minutes.
  • Loosen all of the the tapes from hair.

Use Baby Powder (Quick Fix for Stickiness)

This method is quick, easy, and perfect for getting rid of sticky glue residue on your tape-in extensions.

Best for: Temporary stickiness or light glue residue,and tape in hair just been removed from hair.

What You’ll Need:Baby powder (or talcum powder).

Steps:

  • Apply Baby Powder:Sprinkle a small amount of baby powder directly onto the sticky areas of the extensions.
